What Is Biopsy Procedures?
A biopsy is the removal of a small sample of skin, nail, or soft tissue so it can be examined by pathology. Biopsies may be performed when further diagnosis is needed for a concerning, changing, non-healing, or unusual lesion. Wigley Feet coordinates pathology to help guide next steps.

Depending on the patient, procedure complexity, anesthesia needs, insurance requirements, and physician judgment, eligible procedures may be performed through one of two coordinated surgical pathways at Wigley Feet.

Some procedures may be better suited for an outpatient ambulatory surgical center. Through our partnership with Palmetto Lakes Surgical Center, a Joint Commission-accredited ambulatory surgical center in Miami, we can coordinate ASC-based surgical care when appropriate.
